Travel the John Brown Trail

Visit essential places travelled by John Brown during the famous raid that launched the Civil War.

We’ll tour places where John Brown carried out the raid on Harpers Ferry with National Park Service guides, including the engine house in Harpers Ferry where he was captured. After a catered lunch in Charles Town, we’ll briefly view the courthouse site of John Brown’s trial, visit his execution site in Charles Town, and visit the Jefferson County Museum to see John Brown memorabilia. Our guide for the afternoon will be Bob O’Connor, noted local historian and author. We’ll have a refreshing tea at the end of the day before saying farewell to our travelling companions.
